Our client was concerned about the edge of their deck being a little too high to not have a railing. The stairs leading to the ground level were also lacking a proper railing.
If that wasn’t enough, the company that was hired to build the deck and stairs didn’t provide a proper concrete landing for the stairs to rest on — the bottom of the stairs were simply resting on the soil, and didn’t feel very stable when walked on.
We poured a small concrete pad for the stairs to rest on then secured the stairs to the concrete so it was rock solid. We then installed the powder-coated aluminum railing system from Peak Aluminum Railing. We have installed a number of these systems now and really like them.
We think it turned out nice, and the client was very happy with the results — both visually and from a safety point of view.
